MARGARET HUNT

Margaret (Margie) Hunt became certified as an athletic trainer in 1989.  She earned her undergraduate degree in physical education at the University of Iowa with an emphasis in athletic training. She went on to receive her MS in Physical Education from Syracuse University, while working as a Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer. 
 

After graduate school, Margie started her professional career as a collegiate athletic trainer at Marquette University in Milwaukee, WI.  In 1993 she moved to Colorado and began a long career with the United States Olympic Committee (USOC) as a staff athletic trainer and sports medicine administrator. Her USOC experiences were vast including daily patient and team care, head athletic trainer duties, volunteer provider coordination, and medical coordinator responsibilities for numerous Olympic and Paralympic Games and international events.  In 2013 Margie moved from the clinical to the academic setting, employed as an instructor at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs in the Helen and Arthur E. Johnson College of Nursing and Health Sciences undergraduate and graduate programs. Margie currently instructs primarily in the CAATE accredited Master of Science in Athletic Training program and serves as the Clinical Education Coordinator. 
 

Margie is active with the profession having served as a BOC exam model and administrator and as the CATA board secretary from 1999-2005. In her spare time, she works as an athletic trainer with various National Governing Bodies and volunteers with community organizations.
